So we decided to get in the studio analyze their sound and uncover some of the next level mixing and production techniques theyve used on their rise to the top.
The result is a genre bending soundset for both Xfer Records Serum and NI Massive that pushes Future Bass and mainstream Pop EDM into new territory. Inspired by Grey, Grey Area V.1 has everything you need to capture their hybrid sound.
The presets and sounds in Grey Area V.1 arent just recreations or close approximations of some of Greys most iconic songs. We definitely remade some of their most famous sounds, but we also pushed ourselves to create new and fresh presets that we feel Grey would want to use in their own productions.
The core of Grey Area V.1 is the 120 Serum presets and the 66 Massive presets that provide a perfect starting point to explore their unique sound and incorporate elements of it into your productions. Snappy 808s, hybrid string Future Bass chord presets, drop defining leads, and unique key and mallet sounds like marimbas, kalimbas and more, fill out a truly diverse collection of presets.
Greys percussion and drum game is on point ? A huge component of Greys overall sound is the use of highly unique drum samples. Thats why we created 245 custom drum one shots that will make your drum programming a breeze. We even went to a local high school and recorded drum line snares and included a ton of unique fills and drum loops for those times when youre feeling stuck or need inspiration.
To round out Grey Area V.1, we also included 7 construction kits with over 50 MIDI files.
