Neo Soul is a collection of 42 loops across 22 tempos of super-contemporary drum grooves taking influence from the founders of Neo Soul, such as Dangelo, Questlove and Maxwell right up to Chris Dave, Anderson Paak, Nate Smith and Tom Misch.

We enlisted the incredibly talented drummer George Cook for this pack, hes played for, amongst many others, The Japanese House, Collard and Calum Scott. He has recorded on albums for Eminem, Birdy, Marika Hackman, Jamie N Commons, X Ambassadors, Bruno Major and Rag N Bone Man.

Neo Soul was recorded by Billy Halliday (Frank Ocean, James Blake, Sampha, Duke Dumont) at Milocos Livingston Studio 2 through their Custom Series 75 by Neve desk using only the finest mics from Neumann, Coles, AKG and AEA. Livingston Studio 2 is the perfect space for this kind of drum sound, with its snappy and tight sounding live spaces and massive array of high-end analogue gear.

As ever this pack is all fully live and organic, with strictly zero quantising to ensure the feel and groove is fully retained to give your tracks that extra special feel.

VERSIONS
The Multitrack Sessions contains full length unmixed multitracks of every groove, with separate wavs for all the different mics used on the kit. This pack is great if you want full control over the sound over the kit.

The Stems and Mixes pack contains stems of typically the kick, snare and overhead mics, along with both an unmixed and mixed stereo track. Perfect if you want some control over the mixing process, but need a bit of a starting point.

The Loops Pack contains both processed and unprocessed stereo mixes of all the tracks, broken down into seperate grooves and fills. These are ready-to-go loops perfect for loading straight into your track without any need for mixing or processing.
